11) How could an inquisition possibly be joyful?

The Narrow Gate
"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad
that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life.
And those who find it are few." [Mt 7:13-14]

Well, it certainly can't be joyful if it's not good in the first place!

If God exists (and He does, as Philosophy can prove), and if God has founded a Church here on Earth (and He has, as Apologetics can lead us to believe), then His Church has received from Him a kind of "Recipe for Salvation". If this "Recipe" or more precisely the "Fullness of the Means of Salvation" is not transmitted correctly to the faithful because of internal corruption, then we are headed for a disaster. Technically, that disaster is called Hell.

On the other hand, if a good inquisition chases the wolves out of the sheepfold, and lets the Church once again transmit "the whole Recipe", i.e. all of the saving doctrine of Christ, then we are headed for a happy and joyful ending (technically called Heaven). In other words, a good inquisition could very well be the most joyful thing that could happen to Quebec.

We wouldn't have to wait for the afterlife to enjoy the fruits of a good inquisition. The Church is the salt of the Earth, and right now that salt has lost a lot of its taste in Quebec, which explains why "The Gospel of Death" has made such huge inroads into our society. Physically speaking, the people of Quebec are currently wiping themselves off the face of the Earth with abortion, the pill, divorces, and so on. Mentally speaking, it can be argued the people of Quebec are also trying to commit suicide, by "entertaining" themselves to death. This "entertainment" is done with TV, shopping malls, alcohol, and anything else that can make them forget that without God, we are little more than "Organic pain-collectors racing toward oblivion" (as Dogbert would say).

With a good inquisition, the Gospel of Life would once again be preached in our churches as it should be. This Christian salt would give a divine and joyful flavor to the lives of all Quebecers, giving them back an authentic joie de vivre!
